Club Run

Skelmersdale Running Club has 4 running groups.

Social running is the practice of running in a group or with others for the purpose of social interaction.

Group 1

Group 1: Is Couch to 5K graduate group.

  • This group has a nice easy pace that enables our graduates to slowly build up their distance and experience a range of different running terrains.

  • This group runs for 2 months post C25K to help participants integrate into the club. After which they join Group 2.

Group 2

Group 2: Is our 8k-10k starter group.

  • This group has a nice easy pace that enables people to progress from 5K to 10K.

  • Runners are lead on various terrains including hills to build up stamina. This group has plenty of stops along the route for photos and a rest.

  • On a Thursday night Group 2 will run approximately 4 to 4.5miles in 60 minutes.

Group 3

Group 3: Is our progression 8k-10k group.

  • This group has a pace that enables people to start to improve their speed and endurance over the different terrains offered during a run.

  • Runners are lead on various terrains including hills to build up stamina. This group has several stops along the route for photos and a rest.

  • On a Thursday night Group 3 will run approximately 5 to 5.5miles in 60 minutes.

Group 4

Group 4: Is our progressive 10k+ group.

  • This group has a pace for runners who have completed 10k races under 55 minutes.

  • Whilst this group maybe the fastest group it still operates via the same SCR rule of leave no one behind and support your fellow runners. Members from Group 3 who take the step up are met with support and encouragement. â€‹

  • This group utilises local STRAVA spots as opportunity to run off some energy and back a few crowns.

  • On a Thursday night Group 3 will run approximately 6 to 6.5miles in 60 minutes.
